Three months have passed since our new manager, Mei Yook Woo, joined the garden and, somehow, we completely forgot an introduction! So, without further ado, we bring you 3 Fun Facts about the newest member of the Danny Woo Community Garden team.
Mei Yook couldn't be more excited to be working at InterIm CDA with the Danny Woo Community Garden. Her vision is to share the garden's legacy of cultural resiliency, food justice, and tradition with the greater Seattle area, to ensure this historic space continues to be recognized and celebrated as one of the original community garden's in the city.
Make sure you pay the garden a visit and introduce yourself, in person, to Mei Yook (and Kingston)!
P.S. After a bit of digging, we confirmed that Mei Yook Woo and Danny Woo are in no way related. But what a fun coincidence!
The Danny Woo Community Garden is a 1.5 acre edible growing space located in the heart of Seattle's Chinatown/International District. The garden has been a place for elders to grow for over 40 years and is also home to a children's garden, chicken coop, and outdoor kitchen. Visit us at 620 S. Main St., Seattle, WA 98104.
